Timothy L. Michuda was the Musical Director of the Echoes Accapella group at the University of Notre Dame for 4 years. In his role, he arranged 20+ songs for the group and lead the group to three International Competitions of Collegiate Accapella (ICCA) Quarterfinals in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Released in Spring of 2019 By The Echoes Acappella Group at The University of Notre Dame.
This song was arranged by Timothy L. Michuda for The Echoes' 2019 International Competition of Collegiate Acappella (ICCA) Quarterfinal set. Following the competition, Timothy recorded the song with The Echoes, and helped produce the above music video in conjunction with Notre Dame student Kenny Xu (videographer), Corey Slutsky from "Voices Only Productions", and his fellow Echoes officers. The recording is available on YouTube as well as Spotify and other streaming platforms.
Improvvisazione della Cappella - original piece for solo violin
Performed on April 27, 2018 in the Moreau Seminary Chapel of Notre Dame as a part of an Our Lady's Consort performance.
This piece draws upon the sounds and intervals often heard in sacred music along with suspensions reminiscent of solo Bach sonatas. Though the scaffolding of the piece was notated in advance of the concert, the exact pacing through each of the motives within the piece were left to artistic decision based on the sound in the performance location; in doing so, the goal of an improvisatory affect was achieved.
